Reflect
Sigh, my cash results were fantastic - all except 2 sessions of NLHE where I dropped $100 in each session.   I haven't reviewed all the hands yet, but will need to analyse why as I cannot sustain those kinds of losses.   I've already decided to drop down to $0.10 again, due to bankroll considerations.   My 8-Game (with my new management software - fpdb http://fpdb.wikidot.com/
) PLO and even my NLO8 were all positive results with no huge clangers dropped.

On the tournaments, I've already blogged about my MicroMillions adventure ( http://sceaga.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/pokerstars-micromillions-2015results.html ) so won't repeat here.   My STT results are still pretty poor.  I do enjoy the STT games and generally feel I'm playing OK, but just don't seem to be able to get into the money!   Don't ask about the EPT Barcelona :) it was just a minor indulgence.  The 90 seat STT still seem to be a rich vein of results for me, although obviously a tiny sample size.   Don't seem so lucky in the 45 seat MTTs.   I also managed to play one of the Daily 8-Game tournaments, which I wasn't aware of before.  Might try to play a few more of these, as it's still probably my favourite game.

August and September will both be a little irregular, due to visits to Bognor, but hope to still get a fair few sessions in.   Of course, WCOOP sats are already running :)

August 2014 Targets will be as reduced standard:
- Play 400 cash hands on NLHE $0.10 Full Ring (2 table) with target of breaking even
- Play 400 cash hands on PLO  $0.25 6-max (2 table) with target of breaking even
- Play 1 session of 8 Game cash with target of breaking even
- Play 4 MTT with target of breaking even

Strategic Objectives for 2015
*  Work more on my game to be able to break even on NLHE and PLO cash games
*  Don't play Mobile ZOOM
*  Try to play MTT more regularly
*  Commit only to the SCOOP and MicroMillions online festivals
*  Only try EPTs when have got previous months profits

Pokerstars MicroMillions 2015–results

micromillions-header_thumb

In last years MicroMillions (http://sceaga.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/poker-financial-results-for-july-2014.html) I got 3 cashes from 10 attempts and made a net gain of $5.64, which was pretty good going.

This years plan (http://sceaga.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/pokerstars-micromillions-2015.html) was to play in 7 events, although I switched around the last event due to social plans getting in the way :)

Sadly my overall result this year was a net loss of $34.09 Sad smile

Event Entry Fee Paid Description Result
002 $11.00 $3.53 NL Hold’em 11’875 from 19’347
003 $3.30 $0.00 NL Hold’em [6-Max] 15’051 from 18’633
039 $3.30 $3.30 8-Game 1866 from 2852
041 $4.40 $4.80 NL Hold’em [Progressive Super-Knockout] 11’575 from 12’495
049 $8.80 $9.25 HORSE 1684 from 2470
059 $3.30 $3.30 PL Omaha [6-Max] 3854 from 6026
077 $3.30 Rebuy $9.91 NL Omaha [6-Max] 910 from 2947

Although I started out OK by satelliting into the first couple of events, it all went downhill from there and I only really got close to the money in the last event.

Of course, I got a lot of playing time and as ever was enjoyable to play and take part... with at least the illusion for a while of being able to get to the final table Smile

The WCOOP satellites have started, so have got something some more dreaming to do Winking smile

Pokerstars MicroMillions 2015

micromillions-header

Micro Millions kind of crept up on me this year… Last year I didn’t do a separate plan and results posting, so my results were rolled into July 2014 results, but did do OK by the looks…

This year, once I realised it was upon me, I looked at the schedule and have worked out which ones I can actually play (due to day and time) which actually didn’t leave me very many !    I thinned out one or two which I really don’t fancy playing anyway and I’m left with the following planned tournaments to play:

Date Event No. Entry Fee Event description
16th July 002 $11 NL Hold’em
16th July 003 $3.30 NL Hold’em [6-Max]
20th July 039 $3.30 8-Game
20th July 041 $4.40 NL Hold’em [Progressive Super-Knockout]
21st July 049 $8.80 HORSE
22nd July 059 $3.30 PL Omaha [6-Max]
23rd July 068 $8.80 NL Hold’em [Progressive Super-Knockout]

That gives me 7 events to aim at, although it’s still not certain I will be available all the evenings at the moment (and I’m not keen to play 2 events simultaneously, as with 16th and 20th July)

I will likely look to spend some FPP to satellite into the main event for free (in effect) but will definitely buy in directly otherwise.

Holiday: Bognor – June/July 2015

For the first time, we are actually on holiday whilst down in Bognor !   It’s a bit weird (in a good way) as I closed down my work laptop at 4:30pm and I’m officially on holiday at 4:31pm without having to travel anywhere Smile

Friday 26th June

The main reason for picking this week as holiday was to attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed on the Friday

We woke up at 8am (!!) and got up straight away and got ourselves to Goodwood.  In previous years we’ve had terrible traffic queues, but this time it only took 40 minutes from door to car park.

It was still about half hour to walk from the car park until we got to the first available coffee spot, but nevertheless still a great start to the day.

We had a walk around the paddocks, then sat for a while having lunch in the grandstand whilst watching the cars and also the Red Arrows.   Then walked up the hill to the top paddock, then walked down again and sat in the grandstand by the start line having a coffee to finish off the day.

The journey back to the flat only took half hour (including a brief stop at a garden centre to buy some plants) , so well pleased with the totality of the day.

We are both feeling a bit worn out from all that walking, so end up going to the local chippy to collect our dinner.

 Saturday 27th June

Legs are aching a bit this morning, so had an easy start to the day by planting the plants we’d bought yesterday.

Took lunch out with us and walked up the prom in Bognor.   Beautiful sunny day, but was getting windier and windier.   After we had lunch in the park, we walked back along the prom to the market, then went up the main shopping street before heading for the cafe for our cream tea Smile

IMG_0027IMG_0031IMG_0040IMG_0043

Relaxed back at the flat, as we’re worn out again despite only doing moderate walking.   Decided to have Pizza for dinner, then managed to walk as far as the local pub….

Sunday 28th June

As our main exercise of the day, we drove up to our local Lidl shop, as we’d not been in there before, then sat in the garden until it’s time to drive to the Walnut Tree pub for our Sunday lunch.

Ironically it wasn’t all that busy (previously we’d not even been able to book a table) but the food was decent enough, if a little pricey.

After lunch, we needed to have a walk to went to Pagham.  After a short walk (by our standards anyway) it started to rain a little bit, so we decided to head for the Cafe and have our Tea and Cake Smile

Afterwards, we went into the only other attraction of  Pagham which was the old style amusement arcade (they even had Space Invader video game!)

IMG_0052IMG_0057IMG_0070IMG_0071IMG_0075

After all that excitement, it was back to the flat and rest in the garden, with Top Gear being our main entertainment for the evening.

Monday 29th June

Out of bed by 10:30am which is good going for us on holiday… Off to Brighton for the day today and luckily it’s lovely and sunny.   Got there by 12:15 and had our picnic lunch on the beach.   Then walked into town and went up and down The Lanes (then backwards and forwards, then across and sideways Winking smile )

Needed our mid afternoon Tea and Cake in M&S before then walking down to the Pier.   By the time we’re back at the car its around 6:15pm so have done a lot of walking today.

IMG_0086IMG_0093IMG_0099IMG_0107IMG_0113

Even after an hour rest on the journey back, we’re still knackered (must be our age Smile ) so it’s dinner in the flat tonight as too worn out to go out!

Tuesday 30th June

Today was designated our “Beach Day” so luckily it’s hot and sunny (hottest day of the year so far as it turned out)

Greased up with our factor 30 and got down to the beach to set up our “Base Camp” by 11am, then it’s time for a nice cup of tea Smile

IMG_0128IMG_0132IMG_0137

Around 1pm we go back to the flat for lunch, which gives a nice break from the heat and sun, but back on the beach around 2pm.

After a lovely afternoon doing nothing, we’re done with the sun by 5:30pm (it’s still HOT even at this time) so it’s back to the flat and get ready to go out for our dinner.   Of course we realize then we’ve both got pretty burnt in places, despite the precautions!

Off to the Regis for dinner, as we fancy a bit of a stroll along the prom after all that sitting on the beach.  End up back at our local pub The Waverley on the way home as well..

Wednesday 1st July

Today is our Worthing day trip day.  Having got a bit burnt up yesterday, we’re happy to see it a bit cloudy!   Get to Worthing around midday, so sit on the sea front and have our picnic lunch.

Had a walk around town, but getting hot and sunny again by around 2pm so had to go for our Tea & Cake in M&S again.

IMG_0149IMG_0153IMG_0157IMG_0162

Did more walking but quickly over heating, so needed Ice Cream.   Decided to come home a bit earlier today, so left 4pm to miss the rush hour.   Sat in the garden at the flat to work out our strategy for evening meal Smile

Ended up walking to the Martlets pub for dinner.   They’ve switched to table service since we were there last, but shouldn’t have bothered as the service was appallingly slow !   Once we got the main course it was nice enough, but I couldn’t be bothered to order a pudding as it was taking them too long to even take my order!

Thursday 2nd July

Woke to rain showers, but as we’re planning to go to Chichester today we hope it won’t matter too much.   As it turned out it’d cleared up by the time we arrived around 11:30am.

We took a walk round to Bishop’s Palace Gardens to have our picnic lunch.   Then had a walk around the city perimeter to the Canal   after which we walked some more and ended up at the Cathedral  As it had a cafe which we’d not been in before ,it seemed an opportune moment to have a Tea and Cake Smile

IMG_0175IMG_0181IMG_0182IMG_0185IMG_0187

Did more walking around until 4pm, when we needed a drink and a rest, so popped into a pub (sadly, just soft drinks)   This gave us the energy to have another walk after, ending up back at the car at 5:30pm to work our way through the rush hour traffic back to the flat (actually rush hour doesn’t amount to much in Chichester luckily!)

Being the last day of holiday, we went out to eat at The Hatters where it was Curry Night Smile

Friday 3rd July

Seems odd to go to sleep “on holiday” Thursday night, then wake up and I’m on a normal working day the Friday morning.  Luckily for me it’s Friday already, so nearly the weekend Smile

All in all, we had a great holiday and the flat is working out as we hoped to give us a good base for travelling around, or just going to the beach.   We didn’t have many “rest” days but will make up for that this weekend as it’s the British Grand Prix Smile
