Cars: my Car history 2018 update

I can never remember anything, so put together this car history, to the best of my memory!

Car Appx Date Comments
Mini Clubman 1000cc 1980 Company Car.    Engine kept having problems, rebuilt a couple of times. (don't know why, I never revved it more than maximum revs....)
Austin Allegro   Company Car.  Surprising how many people you can get in an Allegro
A different Austin Allegro   Company Car.    First experience of lift-off oversteer.   Luckily Tree wasn't damaged..... car written off.  Oops.....
Citroen Athena   Bosses car, used fairly regularly whilst I was "rested" from company car ownership.....  first experience of 3 figure speeds (it was socially acceptable in those days)  however was unable to think of suitable reasons to explain to boss why his fuel consumption halved whenever I drive his car..... so fun was seriously curtailed after various "discussions" on driving technique.
Talbot Solara   Company Car.    Rubbish car, but permanently on the road again!    Learnt about weight transfer when swerving to avoid truck pulling out in front of me.    Luckily the barrier on the A3 Hook underpass wasn't damaged.... car written off....... probably did car loving humanity a favour though....
Talbot Solara Series II   Company Car.   Very exciting as the first car I had from brand new.   Also first one I had with 5 speed gearbox !  (it is some new fanged gadget, will never catch on..)
BMW 316   Company Car.    Only had it for a month.... didn't want to give it back, as in those days it was cool to have a Beema
Ford XR3i   Company Car.    Ended up with engine on fire when starting it one day, probably petrol leak in engine bay... write off of course (but not my fault this time !!)
Ford Capri 1.6L Laser   Company Car.    First real experience of rear wheel drive.  Also first experience of a big tank slapper.... luckily didn't hit anything, and my passenger ended up marrying me, so couldn't have been that bad :-)
Cant remember what I had next 1990 Company car of some sort.
Saab 900i auto 1990 Company Car.   Working in London now.  Daily commute, yuk.
Saab 900s manual 1991 Company Car.
Cannot remember 1992-94 Company Car.    Some repmobile or other probably
Rover 216 1994 Changed company, this was obviously a company car !
Rover SDI 3.5 V8 1994 First car I owned myself.   Changed company and decided to get car allowance.   Only lasted about 7 weeks before it collapsed in a heap of rust and mangled bits (£50 for a car wasn't much even in those days)
Renault 19 1.3 1994 My car.  Great car actually.
Cannot remember 1996 Company car.  Doing high mileage so went back to company car.
Renault Laguna 2.0 Sport 1997 Company car.  Sport meant you got the "firm" seats (i.e. - your head doesn't touch the side windows when you turn the steering wheel)
Saab 900 Turbo 1997 My car again.   Changed company just as Tony Blair got into power... bound  to hammer company car drivers, so I went for a car allowance.   Very quick car (once Turbo has spun up that is, none of this namby-pamby low-pressure turbo rubbish)
Lotus Elise

DSC00001
1997 "Our" weekend car.    until wife wanted to sell her half..... Hmmmm, OK.   Absolutely wonderful car though, would love to race one.   (we all need to dream)
Subaru Impreza Turbo 1999 My Car. mine, mine, mine....   one of the most reliable cars in the business, so why did it throw a rod through one of the cylinders then ?   Complete engine rebuilt under warranty (luckily)   Great car, but refused to be driven sensibly.   I must be getting old as started worrying about my Driving License.
Jaguar XK8 Convertible 2002 My car.   Fantastic car, not just for posing in either.    Only sold it to provide my racing budget (and some stuff for the house, but hey....)    Might own another one again (or maybe an Exige would be better..)
Land Rover Discovery Td5 2003 Company Car.  To tow my race car of course.  Tax liability is a bit of a bugger, but you can't beat it for towing.
Range Rover 2004 Company Car.   Temporary arrangement from May-Sept.   Unbelievably, you cannot buy a new Discovery at the moment !
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004 Company Car.   Temporary arrangement from Sept 04- Apr 05   Auto gearbox, but fantastic V8 petrol engine. Great for towing and not bad in a straight line :-)
Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Mar 2005 Own car (Alphabet)   Can tow 2 tonnes and goes like stink as well !
Lotus Elise R

  4x  Holdem Spin'N'Go $1       -$  0.00 (1 cash)

Reflect
Cash seems more under control now.   I'm trying not to play Zoom so aggressively as previously :)   8-Game was a little disappointing, but still OK.   My STT results were terrible at the beginning of the month, but then had a hot run towards the end to get some decent results in.  Just a shame to have such poor results overall

Reflect
I am not playing many serious sessions at the moment.   Cash is only Mobile Zoom, so happy enough to see any positive result for the month.   My STT efforts got side tracked by trying to win a Spin'N'Go with PSPC prize (I never saw sight of such a prize though) I still don't seem to be able to get near average results for Spin'N'Go so should avoid them (again!) in future.   The actual STT I did play I was happy enough with

Poker: Micro Millions 2018 results

pStars

I managed to get myself organised this year to play some of the Pokerstars MicroMillions Smile

Games played Game Players Finish Profit USD
MicroMillions #01 Holdem 20’600 932 6.36
MicroMillions #10 Holdem 16’374 3’750 -5.50
MicroMillions #19 8 game 3’970 584 4.58
MicroMillions #27 Holdem 14’470 10’577 -5.50
MicroMIllions #69 Holdem 5’699 545 3.40
MicroMillions #82 Horse 2’991 1’801 -3.30
MicroMillions #87 Holdem 7’193 2’539 -1.82
MicroMillions #90 Holdem 12’427 2’087 2.63
MicroMillions #97 Holdem 4’343 3’402 -3.30
TOTAL PROFIT/LOSS -2.45

Some of the games were huge slogs, mostly spending between 2 and 4 hours playing.

Although I didn’t actually make an overall profit, I am pretty happy with my playing and am astounded that I managed to cash in 4 out of the 9 games I played (especially considering the number of players)

Roll on next year… Smile

With my bankroll depleted, decided to keep the playing down to within my new limits for this month, especially as we're on holiday the end of the month.   My cash wasn't great results, but in the main was down to a couple of sessions where I seemed to run really badly !   My STT was above average results, but lower volume than normal.

Reflect
I'm actually quite happy with the cash I did play.  Managed to get a couple of 8-Game sessions, but as the number of hands is quite low the results aren't all that worrying.     My main losses were from the SCOOP events.  I did OK and got a couple of small cashes, but not enough to cover the outgoings.   Not my finest result for a SCOOP, but all good really.  Maybe next time I'll not try to qualift for so many Medium levels though...

I still believe my PLO cash game isn't too bad on review,  I do feel there are more good losing hands (i.e. the way I played them) than hands I played poorly. My activities were low volume so nothing much to go on for the STT and Spin’n’Go.

NLHE Zoom    ($0.25)  508 hands   -$ 133.17

Tournament Results (+$  14.44)

STT  (+$  28.23)
  15x  Holdem (9 seat) +$ 28.23 (7 cashes)

MTT  (-$ 13.79)
  4x  Holdem           -$ 13.79 (1x cashes)

Reflect
My PLO cash game isn't too bad on review,  I do feel there are more good losing hands (i.e. the way I played them) than hands I played poorly.   The NLHE cash sessions were a bit of an adventure, which didn't turn out as I'd hoped - perhaps played a little loose !    Tournament results are good, and was happy with my play

April 2018 objectives:
- Play 2 sessions of 8 Game cash with target of breaking even
- Play 10 STT with target of breaking even

Strategic Objectives for 2018
*  Get back to a more regular schedule of playing
*  Commit only to the TCOOP, SCOOP and MicroMillions online festivals
*  Only try Pokerstars Championship/EPT when have got previous months profits

Reflect
I am still happy with my PLO game, just a shame I had two bad sessions at the end of the month at $0.25 blinds to loose a bundle.   Might have a rest from 0.25 PLO for a while, to build up my bankroll again !    My STT and MTT results are a little disappointing, being a little below average results.  Overall I am OK with my NLHE games as well, I suppose the Turbo format is going to be a little more swingy, just seems I am struggling to get off the ground and even when doing well, seem to fall at the final hurdle to miss out on the wins.   Will need to concentrate more whilst playing to try and improve results!!

March 2018 objectives:
- Play 2 sessions of 8 Game cash with target of breaking even
- Play 10 STT with target of breaking even

Strategic Objectives for 2018
*  Get back to a more regular schedule of playing

I am basically happy with my cash results.  My 8-Game could have been a little better, need to tighten up the Stud games, but otherwise OK.   My STT are OK being a very small sample size, one win away from break even really.

Reflect
My live games haven't been good from a result point of view, but have enjoyed the ones I've played, and generally happy with my live game.

The online results are pretty OK overall.   Seem to play better on the higher stakes now, but not sure if that's just because I don't play so much high stakes.   The MTT results are basically due to the one TCOOP result.   My STT results are not great.  I don't play Spin'n'go anymore so that drain wont happen anymore.   The 9 seat STT is my main game now, as my recent results seem to be improving, hope I can turn this around in 2018

Comparing results to my Strategic Objectives for 2017

*  Get back to a more regular schedule of playing
Not really back to a regular schedule as I would like.   Need to try harder!

*  Commit only to the TCOOP, SCOOP and MicroMillions online festivals
Didn't do too badly :)

*  Only try Pokerstars Championship (formerly EPT) when have got previous months profits
Well kind of !
