We’ve previously planned trips this year to the National Trust house Hinton Ampner, but for various reasons didn’t make it….. so was pleased me actually managed to get there today to take a look around !
I must admit the Tea Shop featured heavily in our visit as we got there about lunch time, so had a nice sandwich and sausage roll there before strolling round the main house.
It’s not a huge house, but was a fair amount of interest inside, but were soon outside in the grounds taking a look around. The views from the south terrace were spectacular, despite the slightly grey, cloudy day.
The church in the grounds was also interesting looking and has lovely stained glass windows (looking best from the inside of course..)
After trekking round the remaining ground, we ended back at the tea shop for our mid afternoon snack
On the way home, we stopped at Petersfield, mainly because we’d never been there before. Was OK for a small town, but nothing special there to take the interest really.
Despite the dull day, we had a nice trip out and came back feeling like we’d eaten well and had a nice walk about.
