Racing: Driver Profile

Not much to tell of course !

About 1999 I did a "Lotus Experience" on the Silverstone south circuit... which amounted to about 5 laps...

Roughly 2001 I did a "Caterham Experience" at Donnington, but this was only about 3 laps at half revs... good fun at the time, but not really much use to learn the circuit!

In 2003 I decided I had to do the 5 day race intensive course at the Silverstone Race School for my 40th Birthday, and of course that was it... had a wonderful 4 days messing around with a Formula First (mainly round the Stowe circuit) and the last day was a race against my fellow students. I qualified 5th of 9 people, and ended up 6th - but didn't really try to hard as I really wanted to finish the race and get my first race signature! Fantastic experience, which really led to my being determined to get into racing somehow....!

After agreeing with my wonderful wife that I could sell the Jag to get some capital to pay for it, I was trying to decide what race car to buy in December 2003, when Mark approached me to ask if I wanted to buy his car and so I did ! It must be fate....

Here's a picture of me in the car (at Snetterton)

Road Cars I have owned

Driving on the road is obviously nothing like driving on the track, but thought it was interesting to try and remember what cars I have owned, or driven regularly (as I have had Company car most of the time, which is why I am not very good at mechanics now..)   See the full article at https://sceaga.blogspot.com/2012/08/cars-my-car-history.html
